Abstract:
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is the capturing of carbon dioxide (CO۲) from gas emissions, transporting it to the chosen storage sites, and holding it in isolation for a very long period. The intent of this process is to shield the atmosphere from increased CO₂ emissions from industrial and power-generating processes. It has a potential to contribute towards amelioration of climate change and further act against the greenhouse effect. However, these have been challenges notwithstanding advancements made and the effects of CCS upon the earth's atmosphere. In the meantime, nanotechnology also contributes significantly to addressing such challenges. Nanotechnology plays an important role in CCS and helps it to be effective in reducing global warming. This article explores nanotechnology and its applications in carbon capture and storage (CCS). The population is increasing, and global warming also has increased the demand for nanotechnology. In general, the integration of nanotechnology and CCS is very necessary and promises a better and cleaner future.
