Abstract:

Application of the lossless compression method to hidetexts is considered as a novel trend in research projects.Evaluation of the proposed methods in the field of steganographyreflects a variety of approaches to create covert communicationvia text files. The extensiveness of steganographic issues and thepresence of a huge variety of approaches make it difficult toprecisely compare and evaluate these methods. Therefore, in thisarticle a new steganography method that uses a statisticalcompression technique called ‘arithmetic coding’, will bepresented. In addition, the comparison of this method capacitywith other methods will be explained. The arithmetic codingtechnique that has very high compression rates, shall guaranteeeven a higher growth capacity and higher security compared toits similar techniques. Meanwhile, the secret messages were notrevealed through rewriting or syntax/semantic checking andcompared with similar methods, increased the capacity by up to68.9%, and compared with other methods; this method improvedthe capacity of fifteen times
