Abstract:

Detection and determination of toxic ions is one of the most important biotechnological issues in passive defence. Quantum dots are fluorescent nanocrystals that have been used widely as optical biosensor for detection and determination of different types OF biomolecules.in this paper potential application of quantum dots as sensor for determination of various toxic cations and anions has been reviewed. It has been fund that these luminescent nanostructures are very useful tools and the method is rapid. Inexpensive and reliable to be used to detect toxic ions at low concentrations
