Idioms are difficult area of foreign language learning and teaching. Cognitive linguistics view can contribute to this area. We are going to contrast conceptualization of ANGER in both Persian and English idioms, according to Conceptual Metaphor Theory of Lakoff and Johnson. The question is what is the effect(s) of knowing the similarities (ordifferences) between conceptualization of ANGER idioms (in the two source and target languages) by the students on their learning? In other words, can we use the findings of Cognitive Semantic Theory in teaching idioms to learners of English language? The Contrastive analysis of idioms of ANGER in English and Persian shows that the two languages have some similarities in conceptualization of ANGER idiom
