Abstract:
Electricity demand prediction is crucial for power generation. Having an accurate model for predicting electricity consumption helps optimize energy usage and costs. In this article, an introductory overview of data mining is provided, along with a discussion of its associated tasks. The most important tasks used in electricity demand prediction are examined. Within the classification and regression tasks, three models are scrutinized, while in the deep learning task, a method is assessed in two different approaches and countries. Finally, all these methods are compared in terms of the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) to gauge the accuracy of each one.
