Smart education in Smart Society ; Benefits &Challenges

Abstract: smart Society and smart education are concepts that have emerged in recent years, which are related to the development of a society based on digital technology to build a more sustainable world. Thus to keep abreast with what is needed to effectively live in these societies, the future education should be compatible to the information and technological advances needed in the smart society. This paper discusses the future educational strategies emphasizing the need for alignment with smart society ۵.۰’s principles to faster adaptable and sustainable educational inclusion. This is a qualitative research and explores the key requirements of smart education ۵.۰ and the enabling technologies that make it possible such as generative AI and Metaverse. Overall, this paper provides an overview of benefits and challenges of smart education, to transform education and improve learning outcomes for students in smart society.
