Abstract:

In this work to study the effect of catalyst composition on catalytic reactivity of Fe/Cr catalysts, used for hightemperature water-gas shift (HTS) reaction, several catalyst samples with various compositions were prepared bythermolysis of m(NH4)3[Fe(C2O4)3]/nCr2O3 precursors. To investigate the influence of copper presence oncatalyst reactivity, a copper-added sample was prepared. Catalytic performance results showed that by increasingthe chromium content the catalyst activity decreases. Also it was seen that the rate of deactivation for the samplewith the lowest amount of chromium is higher than the other ones though its reactivity is the highest. Also it wasobserved that the presence of copper in catalyst composition has adverse effect on its catalytic reactivity.
