Abstract:
There are different issues about optimal operation of active distribution networks or microgrids. Also with increasingof wind power penetration, it may affect various aspects of microgrid operation. Considering the most probable windspeed and induction nature of wind generators on microgrids operation and existence of some ElectronicallyInterfaced DGs (EIDGs) in a microgrid, this paper proposes an Optimal Power Flow (OPF) formulation in order todetermine the optimal control variables of each EIDG. In this paper DGs are modeled as PQ, PV, and their controlvariables are specified to have the best voltage profile. OPF problem is performed considering hourly load pattern, then load flow study is accomplished to analyze results. Numerical studies on modified 34-bus IEEE distribution testsystem including six EIDGs with two wind farms show the effects of wind power on generation capacity of EIDGsand voltage profile of microgrid.
