Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) functionalized with Schiff base was synthesized. Then, palladium catalyst was anchored on MNPs. The prepared catalyst was used in Suzuki reaction. The supported catalyst has the advantage to be completely recoverable with the simple application of an external magnetic field. The immobilized palladium complex catalyst could be reused several times without significant degradation in catalytic activity. No contribution from homogeneous catalysis of active palladium species leaching into reaction solution was detected.
