Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice. Graphene has attracted significant research interests in recent years due to its distinctive properties and potential applications in many different areas. This review paper on graphene is started with general description of the graphene as well as its most promising and appealing properties with particular attention to its nano scale properties. Several production techniques are summarized ranging from the chemical routs using graphene oxides to the newly developed approach at the molecular level. Finally, high potential of graphene in many different areas is reported
