A new nickel(II) Schiff base complexe,([NiL2]), L = 2-{(E)-[2-bromoethyl)imino]methyl}phenol, have been preparedand characterized by elemental (CHN) analysis, UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy. The CHN analysis of the complex confirmed the chemical composition of it. The Antibacterial activity of nickel(II) complex and its Schiff base ligand (L) was investigated against bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli. The results showed that nickel(II) complex had antibacterial activity comparable to standard antibiotics, while the corresponding Schiff base ligand had a lower antibacterial activity
