Abstract:

This study focuses on the preparation and characterization of single phase CuO nanopowder. At first, bimetallic derived from macrocycle Schiff base [Cu2L].3H2O complex (L:2,7,13,18-tetramethyl-3,6,14,17-tetraazatricyclo-[17.3.1.1]-tetracosa-1(23),2,6,8(24),9,11,13,17,19, 21-decaene-9,11,20,22-tetraol) as precursor were synthesized and then CuO nanopowder were obtained via a solid-state decomposition procedure.In addition, the effects of calcination temperature of precursor were investigated with result of thermal behavior of complex. The crystalline structure of product was studied by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and FT-IR spectra. The Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis revealed nearly uniform and spherical CuO nanoparticles with an average particle size of approximately 28 nm.
