Pollution from dyeing industries often contains small amounts of organic materials that require specific management. Removing these compounds from textile wastewater and adopting some methods with the highest removal efficiency and the lowest cost is a necessity. Advanced oxidation method is a method for removing such wastewaters. In this study, the use of nanotechnology as a new method for organic acid red 87 dyes removal in small amounts from aqueous solutions which is used in the dyeing of cellulosic fibers, cotton and wool and nylon fibers was studied through the advanced oxidation process in the presence of silver nanoparticles powder. Using oxidizer agent or nano silver catalyst alone did not lead to any removal, while the simultaneous use of Peroxydisulfate and nanosilver significantly increased removal efficiency. The effect of various parameters such as Peroxydisulfate concentration changes, changes in contaminant concentrations and changes in concentrations of silver nanoparticles on dye removal were studied. Increasing the concentration of Peroxydisulfate and nano-silver catalyst increased the percentage of pollutants removal. Optimal amount of nanosilver and the optimum concentration of Peroxydisulfate were 0.125gr/l and 10mM, respectively1T.
