Abstract:
Nanofluids containing graphene nanosheets are simulated with two different base fluids, water and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP), in a circular tube with constant heat flux using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. The objective is to compare the convective heat transfer coefficient of two nanofluids at different concentrations and flow rates. Also, the dispersibility of graphene nanosheets is considered in base fluids. The results show that the convective heat transfer coefficient of two nanofluids increases by adding nanoparticles as well as increasing flow rate specially in turbulent regime. The better performance is observed for water based nanofluid in comparison with NMP based nanofluid. Furthermore, adding more than 0.01 vol% nanoparticles leads to less improvement of heat transfer coefficient for two nanofluids
