Abstract:
Failure analysis has been performed for paint and coating system of a spiral case in a unit of a hydro power plant, with 3700×10 6 P KW/Year electricity generating capacity, using several analyzing methods including visual analysis, dry film thicknesses, tape adhesion testing, optical microscope, scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersion X-Ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), inductive coupling plasma (ICP) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The acquired results were analyzed and interpreted to determine the failure causes
