Investigating Factors Affecting Performance of Project Teams onTechnology Units (Case Study: Khorasan Science and Technology Park)

Survey studies results related to technology-based projects have evaluated effective factors andalso barriers for effective performance of project teams. In this paper, factors affecting the optimalperformance of project teams in technology-oriented environments within an enterpriseenvironment and factors of managerial leadership are explained.Many performance measures focus on projects outside the organization. In this study it is shownthat leadership factor on two levels of project management and excellent management has a bigimpact on the environment of a team, consequently, it accounts for project team performance. Thisstudy is applied in terms of purpose and it is descriptive- analytic in terms of method. Statisticalpopulation consisted of technology-based project teams whose performance was examined throughrandom sampling. Analysis of research findings through Software SPSS version 17 suggests that inaddition to managing project technical aspects, team leaders must pay special attention to thehuman dimension in order to be able to manage relations in all team processes including supplying,supportive and cooperative functions. Managers can use the results of this research forunderstanding various aspects of teamwork processes and provide strategies for deepening(increasing) team function in technology-based projects.
