Studying the effects of depth to span variations on seismic behavior of double layer domes

The space domes are common examples of space structures utilization, which are used frequently because of some characteristics including rigidity, lightness, and the ease of implementation. Therefor studying the horizontal seismic behavior of double layer domes with different depth to span ratios is important. In this paper the buckling behavior of double layer domes with cylindrical parts and damping factor of 100 and joints under gravity loads as well as horizontal earthquake are studied. The nonlinear effects of materials and geometrical forms are considered in this study.
