خلاصه مقاله:
In this paper, a comprehensive study is carried out on characterization of transverselyisotropic cylinders embedded in an isotropic matrix using the inversion of acoustic scatteringdata. The normal mode expansion technique is used for modeling the scatteredfield. The compression incident and compression scattered waves are considered, and thecapability of using them for estimating the elastic constants of a transversely isotropiccylinder is examined. Genetic algorithm is the inversion technique used for estimatingthe five elastic constants of the transversely isotropic fibre. The inversion technique iscapable of computing the parameter values that best fit a particular set of data. A perturbationstudy is conducted on the sensitivity of the form function and resonance frequenciesto small changes in cylinder’s elastic properties. The numerical results indicate thatproper selection of resonance frequencies leads to accurate measurement of elastic constants of a transversely isotropic cylinder
