Abstract:

The control of the vibrations is receiving a growing attention as the dynamic loads of the systemsare more complicated and the light weight structures are more involved in the design ofthe mechanical systems. The passive solutions for improving the dynamic behavior are limitedin effect. One of this solution is the dynamic absorber, very efficient in a narrow frequencyrange and simple to implement but difficult for use in excitations with wide frequency range. Currently the semi-active and active systems are receiving wider attention, as a solution to overcome the limitations of the passive systems. The paper presents an investigation concerning the possibilities to control the behavior of a dynamic vibration absorber consisting of a mass-spring-viscous damper with parameters m/k/c, by integrating in his structure an electro-dynamic actuator and a feedback loop. Previous work proved the possibility to control the equivalent mechanical parameters of the dynamic absorber using a proper electrical impedance placed at the actuator terminal. This solution is improving the mechanical behaviour but is limited as performance. The principles and the methods by which, through changes of mechanical and/or electric parameters and feedback parameters, can be achieved an improved effective control of the dynamic response of the system are studied and the results presented. The results confirmed the possibility to control the equivalent parameters of the dynamic absorber in a better way than semi-active solution. The passive solution is limited but can be improved with a current feedback. A combination of current and velocity feedback is offering the best results
