Abstract:

In this paper brake squeal phenomenon, one of noise resources in automotive is studied. In general,there are two kinds of noise discussion; low frequency squeal (1-5 KHz) and high frequency squeal(over 5 KHz). Slip Vibration is counted as Self-Excitation-Vibration which causes noise in dynamicsystems. In this article the effect of friction on vibrations of a brake system is discussed. Vibrationswhich are created by the friction in dynamic systems can make noise and cause energy waste in system.Most of this energy waste changes to heat and makes extra heat in system and noise makes discomfortfor users. In this paper a model which has a strong similarity with the real one was consideredin order to analyze Self-Excited-Vibration behavior of the brake system and also the brake squealphenomenon in two different conditions was studied. In the first case, a system of linear equationswas considered and the stability caused by Stribeck coefficient of friction model was studied. Thereforeinfluence of various parameters on the stability of system is clearly illustrated. In the second case,equations and friction model is considered to be nonlinear and the behavior of this system was analyzed by limit cycle
