The aim of this paper is to investigate convection heat transfer from new types ofperforated fins. Solid fins with cross perforations are analyzed using numerical simulation.Turbulent air flow and heat transfer equations are solved around fins using a finite volumecode. Solution is covered for types of perforation and Reynolds numbers from 2×104 to 3×104based on fin length. From results of numerical simulation, flow field and heat transfercharacteristics of such fins are illustrated and discussed. Validation is made by comparingheat transfer rate with previous investigations. Comparison with previous studies related toperforated fins is also presented. It is shown that among different perforation configuration afin with 1 longitudinal perforation and 3 vertical perforations has the highest heat transferperformance.
