In this study we analyzed the mixing effects of rotating and oscillating stirrers in a micro channel by using Ansys CFX methods and it compared with Lattice Boltzmann methods incorporating a D2Q9 model that was done by Sang-Joon and Yong-Dae Kim et al. then effects of molecular diffusion and disturbance by the stirrer for mixing were examined .A time-averaged mixing index was used to estimate the mixing performance of a time-dependent flow. Micro-mixer in Ansys CFX is simulated with High resolution scheme and sliding mesh for oscillating and rotating stirrer and good agreement between it’s results and LBM in stationary stirrer cases observed. In rotating and oscillating cases, a difference between LBM and Ansys CFX observed because of Strouhal number and paper of LBM didn’t say anything about it. Anyway the results both analysis revealed that the mixer, using an oscillating stirrer was much more enhanced and stabilized.
