Abstract:
There is historical evidence to show that the old dam is about 4000 years BC . Dams have different categories according to the task to be taken eg : dams , storage dams , diversion dams , tailings dams anddams are classified as temporary . Depending on the building of dams dams , a pebble , concrete and RCCare divided . Concrete dams based on their structural function and the arc weights are divided into two categories . The arch dam crest loads via two mechanisms of action and the arc is transferred to thefoundation and abutments .
