Abstract:

In the following study, the methods were employed in which wastewaters were treated by using reverse osmosis membranes (RO). A system reverse osmosis designed with as an IntegratedMembrane System (IMS). The application of IMS is a must for sites require very extensive conventional pre-treatment or where wide fluctuation of raw water quality is expected. Four Ro pilot systems was operated during the study to treat waste water. Pilot-scale tests were performedon a commercial model CPA3 (11000gpd(. RO was terminated at a water recovery of approximately 91%. The Concentration levels NH4+1, NO3 -1, Cl-1, SO4 -2 and Na+1are too high for discharge into environment. Therefore, the leachate should be treated prior to discharge into thewater environment or the sewer. It is also shown that the experimental results are in very good agreement with theoretical predictions based on the model presented earlier in this paper.
