The Role of Architectural Features and Regional Ecosystem inSustainable Development (A Case Study: Establishing Architectural Features of Oramanat in Kurdistan Province)

Sustainable development in Architecture is based on detailed exploration of features and substrate characteristics. Exploration of features in social, economic,bioenvironmental and physical domains may lead to healthy sustainable development. Accordingly, attempting to explain concepts of architecture and sustainable development along with its causative factors, the present paper aims to explore and determine architectural features of Oramanat as a necessary step in related development plans. The results are indicative of the rich nature of architecture and its high potential regarding sustainable development and architecture in Oramanat. Among the special features of this kind of architecture are coordination with regional climate, combination with nature, attention to site and topography features, legibility of landscape and , housing typology and stepped architecture, the neighborhood and social interactions and companionship of culture and architecture.
