Abstract:
This study evaluated the influence of some operating factors including throughout of grinding circuit, rotation speed of mill, ball charge weight and grinding time on the corrosive wear rate of steel balls in grinding of Sarcheshmeh copper ore. It was found that these factors were significant on corrosion rate of steel balls. The results implied that corrosive wear accelerated with enhancing of mill speed and number of small balls inside the mill and prolonging grinding time. Increasing the media charge increased corrosion rate to a peak value and then reduced. Also results indicated that throughout had low impact in corrosive wear. In addition, regression equations were proposed for relationship between factors and corrosive wear of balls.
