Based on problems of the fossil-fuel vehicles the research on the fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles has been greatly concerned. However, using ofthe fuel cell systemalone to propulsion applications is not suitable due to the load power profile includes transients and fuel cell has a slow dynamic. Usually to solve this problem, hybridization of the fuel cell and energy storage systems are used. Energy storage system is able to provide transient power demand and also hybridization technique results the fuel cell system downsized to meet the average power demand without facing peak loads . This paper focus on a vehicular system equipped with a fuel cell system and a battery pack (as energy storage system). In hybrid electric vehicles, energy management strategy is one of the most important issues that is quite necessary to split the power demand in a suitable way in order to maximize the vehicle performance and efficiency while promoting the fuel economy and endurance of vehicle components. In this study, a management strategy based on fuzzy logic controller is designed to implement an optimal power control algorithm . The energy management strategy is validated against different positions of accelerator. The simulation results indicated that the proposed control strategy has proper response to coverage the driving conditions.
