A Critical Analysis of James Joyce’s Eveline : A Psychological and Feminist Approach

The present study has investigated on James Joyce’s Eveline from the short stories collection of Dubliners. Regarding the main themes of the story, routinelife, feeling imprisoned, bullying the weaker and longing for escape, analysis of attitudes of the characters of the story have been concern of the present study. In order to scrutinize Joyce’s work, conflicts of the main character are analyzed which are classified in to two categories of internal and external conflicts. The status of women in terms of seeking for stability, their passive role in the society, and society’s expectation from them have analyzed in this study too.
