REPAIRS TO CONCRETE MARINE STRUCTURES

Ports and marine structures located in the 2000 km water border of Iran are exposed to intense corrosion and deterioration. Weather conditions that resulting more rapidly chemical reactions occurrence and more saline sea water particularly in the south of Iran has caused that even newly built structures to be damaged and corroded. In the recent decades the cost of repair and maintenance of ports and marine structures has become a considerate amount, and in some cases even as much as the primary investment spent on its construction. In this paper methods on repair employed in the south ports of Iran and also in oil structures are discussed and compared and the necessary suggestions provided for each case.
