Abstract:
A new electrolyte equation of state, eP-PHSC (electrolyte polar perturbed hard sphere chain) has been used for calculation of the mean activity coefficient and density of aqueous electrolyte solutions at ambient conditions (25○C and 1bar). In this work the perturbed hard sphere chain(PHSC) equation of state has been extended to the electrolyte systems by incorporating the electrostatic (Mean spherical approximation term), polar and association terms. In this model usingpolar and association terms, the specific interactions between molecules have been taken intoaccounts. The ion specific approach has been used to obtain the global ion parameters. The average absolute relative deviation for calculation of mean ionic activity coefficients and density were 1.32% and 0.572% respectively. It can be concluded that the presented model could correlatethe experimental results efficiently
