Abstract:
Isotactic polypropylene (iPP) microporous membranes were prepared via thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) method. IPP, paraffin oil and acetone were used as the polymer, diluent and extractant, respectively. The effects of polymer concentration and quenching bath temperature on the membrane porosity and mechanical properties were investigated. With the increase of polymer concentration, the porosity of membrane decreases and the tensile strength increases as well. When quenching at same coarsening time, the porosity obviously increases with the increase of bath temperature.
