Abstract:
Mathematical modelling of fixed bed catalytic styrene monomer reactor was performed using the kinetic relations and mass and energy balance equations. With the proposed mathematical model, the profile conversion of ethyl benzene and supper heated steam, styrene yield and selectivity, temperature and pressure were achieved during the length of catalytic bed reactor. As a case study, this results were compared with an industrial reactor. Also the effect of some key operatinal parameters such as the molar ratio of the steam to ethyl benzene in the feed and internal temperatures were investigated on conversion of ethyl benzene and styrene selectivity.
