In this article, two-dimensional population balance equation (PBE) has been used for modeling of particles that cannot be assumed as a sphere with one specific length. In order to solve the two- dimensional PBE, a new efficient numerical method called conservation element and solution element (CE/SE) has been applied. CE/SE method differs substantially in concept and methodology from the well-known existing methods like finite volume and finite difference and can be used for solving PBE in presence of shock and model discontinuity and in the model. The effectiveness of the scheme is demonstrated through computer simulation.should be avoided.
