Abstract:

Hydrogen production by steam reforming of methanol was studied over Cu/Zn-based catalysts.The Cu/ZnO/Al2O3/CeO2/ZrO2 nanocatalysts were prepared by co-precipitation and oxalate coprecipitation methods to investigate the effect of synthesis method in performance and structure ofcatalysts. The structure of catalysts were studied by XRD. The preparation method were found to influence Cu crystallite size, hydrogen selectivity, hydrogen yield and methanol conversion. The results showed that Cu/ZnO/Al2O3/CeO2/ZrO2 nanocatalysts prepared by co-precipitation method have high performance for hydrogen production. Finally, the performance of optimized catalyst was compared with Sud-Chemi commercial one
