Abstract:

Synthesis of sulfated zirconia nanopowders using the polyacrylamide gel method was carried out.An assessment of the influence of the calcinations temperature (500-650 C) and sulfate ion (SO42-) loading on the properties of SO4 2--ZrO2 was performed and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD), spectroscopy electron microscopy (SEM) techniques.FTIR analysis was used to confirm the presence of sulfate groups. Our experimental results showed that tetragonal phase crystalline structure appeared for all the catalysts calcined at 500–650 C and also proprties of sulfated zirconia is affected by amount of sulfate ion loading.
