Particular Aspects Regarding Sonar and Radar Expressions

Radar and Sonar are very similar in that both dependupon the transmission of a pulsed sinusoid containing a certainamount of energy and reception of the very small amount ofenergy reflected off the target at sometime later.One of the primary purposes of both the radar and sonartechnologies is to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio.By common consent and usage the radar equation and sonarequation have been written in somewhat different equationshave been taken into account and compared with each other.Sonar and radar have evolved expressions which connect thesystem gains and losses, target reflection characteristics,transmitted power, ambient noise levels, transmission losses,with the received signal-to-noise ratios.
