Abstract:

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric method for evaluating the efficiency of peer decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. In many situations, DMUs have a multi-stage structure composed of several processes. In recent years, a great number of DEA studies have focused on multi-stage systems. Because of their basic structures, special attention has been devoted on DMUs whose interval structure consists of series or parallel processes. The exact known inputs and outputs are required in these DEA models. However, in the real world, the concern is systems with interval data. We incorporate such interval data into multi-stage DEA model. We have previously published the parallel network dynamic DEA model with interval data. At now, in this work, we suggest an approach to measure the efficiency of series systems with interval data for network dynamic DEA model. Also, we assuming that existed fixed inputs, outputs and intermediate products and obtaining efficiency interval for overall-, period-, divisional and period-divisional efficiencies in each period of time and in each part of DMUs decision making sub-units.
