Abstract:
The use of structure made up with cold formed members is growing up in Europe ranging from poles for railway electrification to 400 KV T.L.towers.
A survey of the main topics regarding fabrication and erection of cold formed lattice transmission towers is presented.
Attention is devoted to material properties, fabrication technologies and tolerances for strips and sections.
Some aspects of detailing and erection connected to the peculiar characteristics of cold formed member. towers are presented.
