The Computer aided method which is introduced in this paper is a fragmentation analysis method and is a powerful method for analyzing the status of a suspension ACSR cable which is strung in the most general case which it ever can be.
By the statement "the most general case" it is meant that: The support points are not level i.e., are not in a horizontal level and the insulator strings are pulled along the conductor and form a three part catenary [figure 2.1] and the length of insulator strings at the right hand and at the left hand support points may be different, and besides; the type of insulator units in the right and left hand strings may also be different and above all, the whole catenary can have concentrated loads at any point along its three part length, these concentrated loads may be of any kind, for instance: they may be caused by [T-off]'s and so on.
The computerized analysis method is capable of covering all these problems which may exist in a general case of stringing of an ACSR cable. The computerized method has been devised by the authors recently and this is the first time that it is going to be announced to public. We have considered almost all physical and mechanical characteristics of the problem in the paper.
