Abstract:
TiO2/mica and TiO2/leca photo catalyst were prepared by the suspension hydrolysis of TiCl4 in the presence of both carriers. Obtained photo catalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, and UV methods. The furfural was used as contamination simulation to comparison analysis the photo catalytic activity of TiO2/mica and TiO2/leca, the influence of deg radiation time and photocatalyst amount were investigated. XRD patterns and SEM images showed that TiO2 on the surface of the mineral carrier is good. The influence of UVlight on degradation of furfural and the role of TiO2 on both of the support in the furfural degradation were discussed based on series of experimental the degradation of furfural was reached.
