Abstract:
Metal oxides are widely present in nature and some of them are of great practical use. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and zinc oxide (ZnO) are two of these oxides, which are used in many fields [1]. In this work, the nano Fe2O3-ZnO was prepared for removal of methyl orange (MO) from aqueous solution. The prepared catalyst was deposited on magnetite surface to have a catalyst with magnetite core. So the catalyst can be separated easily from the waste solution by a magnet. The effective parameters on degradation of MO which included the amount of nano Fe2O3-ZnO (m), initial concentration of MO (C0), pH and temperature (T), were evaluated. It was found that the content of degradation followed decreasing order: m=50>75>100>125>150 mg, C0=25>50>75>100>125 mg.l-1, pH=7>5>3>9>11 and T=5>15>25>25>45 °C.
