خلاصه مقاله:
The present paper is based on research done to study the relationship between Iranian EFLteachers’ emotional intelligence and their professional success in high schools. To do so, 40 EFLteachers were randomly selected from different high schools in Yazd, Iran. The Trait EmotionalIntelligence questionnaire Short Form (TEIQue-SF) was administered to mentioned teachers.Simultaneously, a questionnaire entitled ‘Characteristics of successful EFL teachers’ was filled inby the students taught by each teacher with the aim of evaluating the teachers’ performance. Themethod of research was correlation method. Data analyses by use of Pearson product–momentcorrelation and regression showed that: there is a significant positive relationship betweenteachers’ success and their emotional intelligence and also emotional intelligence was predictorof teachers’ success.
