خلاصه مقاله:
This study aims to investigate the relationship between inquiry-based learning and criticalthinking. Inquiry-based learning is an approach which starts with questioning and leads toinvestigating an issue or idea. A well-organized inquiry-based learning can promote informationliteracy. Popular discussions on education as well as recent findings came to the same conclusionthat in the present society, new methods of learning and engaging students are required. Theanalysis of data produced by 40 advanced EFL learners who were randomly selected fromdifferent universities in Esfahan. The participants were asked to fill two questionnaires in thefirst phase of the study. In the next phase, the participants were divided into two groups ascontrol and experimental group. Inquiry-based learning was taught to the experimental group,whereas traditional method was employed to the control group. The results of this quantitativeinvestigation showed a significant relationship between inquiry-based learning and criticalthinking.
