Evaluating people satisfaction in public open spaces and parks (Case Study: Two Public Parks in Bandar-Abbas)

Parks and green public open spaces have several merits such as psychological security and relaxation in human societies. Paying attention to the different aspects of them is critically important as they would develop a significant social value and they are required to gain an ideal public open space. However, sometimes parks design factors are against the expected outcomes. In this paper, the multiple attributes of two local parks in Bandar-Abbas have been assessed and analyzed by using surveys. Different factors in several aspects has been considered in survey design to achieve a realistic estimate about people demands and park obstacles. According the survey result, a safe and specially designed area for children is absolutely important. Moreover, it is crucial to consider local safety and criminal measures of the place in designing a park since the majority of people are more security satisfied in parks without hindered visibility.
