Abstract:

In this paper we used Matlab software to optimize Foam injection process. ECLIPSE Software utilized to model a synthetic sector of a reservoir and its fluids. A black oil model (E-100) has been used to simulate foam flow in the reservoir sector. During simulation process not only the foam properties – as injected fluid – but also the injection well position and its injection rate have been changed automatically. After finishing any accomplishment of E-100 for special cases, the output of each case reported separately. We focused on the location of injection well, foam quality, and injection rate. Although the program were able to change other defined properties automatically. The best condition of injection process will be attained by comparing results of hundreds or thousands of different possible states. In our case study, the injection of dry foams in upper permeable layers showed the maximum amount of Cumulative oil production
