Prediction of production performance is a key step for field developments. For this reason, we have to deal with the productivity equation and try to make it feasible with the governing conditions of the reservoir. All the efforts in the petroleum industry are according to reach the desired target which is the closest situation to the actual reservoir conditions. One of the parameters involving the productivity equation is Dietz shape factor which accounts for the deviation from the simplified assumptions for driving productivity equation, such as partial penetration, well location, etc.In this paper, a synthetic base homogeneous model has been created using Eclipse 100, and verified using Dietz shape factor. To account for the heterogeneity, we assumed part of the reservoir as a naturally fractured reservoir and the behavior of shape factor as we go from a single porosity model to dual porosity model has been investigated. Significant differences in Productivity between the new approach and the common method used in petroleum industry are demonstrated
