Abstract:

The H2 membrane separation unit (HRU) was designed in this study by Aspen HYSIS software for evaluation of the H2 recovery and comparison the results with available site data obtained from industrial hollow fiber module types. The research goal was distinguishing the applied module types in different separation trains. Two types of UBE Company’s HF modules (A & BH) at two different operational pressures were considered for simulation of HRU package. Results showed that simulated unit based on A & BH module types likes more to the real unit rather than designed unit based on BH & BH module types. The permeance of feed gas components for BH module type is higher than component permeances of A module type. Therefore, total and each package H2 recovery for BH & BH module series had higher difference to the practical case than A & BH arrangement.
