Abstract:
The determination of just suspended speed ( ) for non-Newtonian fluids in liquid-solid system is a problem of considerable industrial importance. No specific correlation to calculate minimum agitation speed of non-Newtonian fluid have been reported yet. This study concern estimating parameters of minimum impeller speed for non-Newtonian fluid in 10, 20 and 50wt% solids and 0.1, 0.2 and 0.33 clearance. New correlation of Herschel Bulkley fluids and pitched-blade Turbine is proposed. Using CMA-ES as a nonlinear optimization algorithm, investigated to optimize the Zwietering correlation. The results showed, the new correlations were in good agreement with experimental data.
