Abstract:
Ilam gas treating company, located in west of Iran, MDEA and PZ are used to remove both H2S and CO2 from feed gas .The corrosion in amine plants is not caused by the itself, but is caused by the H2S and CO2 and by the amine degradation. Amine solvents can degrade through oxidation, thermal degradation and through reactions with flue gas components to form heat stable amine salts (HSAS). However, source formation of HSAS was unknown, but due to increasing concentration of HSAS in amine, corrosion of amine solution had been increased. The objective of thepresent study is to evaluate the laboratory analysis of HSAS increasing in amine unit by Ion Chromatography (I.C) and also exploring the effect of HSAS on amine equipment corrosion.
