خلاصه مقاله:
In this paper, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimization method for simultaneous optimal placement and parameters tuning of Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) is proposed to damp inter-area oscillations and improve stability in multi-machine power system. Compared with existing approaches, the proposed method is more applicable in that, it only needs Eigen-values of system oscillatory modes instead system transfer function. The results of test on IEEE 9-bus system, show optimal performance of the proposed method in damping inter-area oscillations and improving power system stability.
